Paulette Pinky "PoBaby" Bowens was born on April 15,1953, to the late Jake Ross and Georgia Mae Anthony Bowens in Memphis, Tennessee. She departed this life for her Heavenly home on March 23, 2024. Paulette accepted Christ under the leadership of Pastor Melvin Nally at Trinity Baptist Church in North Memphis.
After graduation Paulette met her first husband David Luis Crawford. They were joined in holy matrimony and was blessed with a son, Michael Crawford. David proceeded her in death.
Paulette later met and married Eddie Frank Ivory, who proceeded her in death.
Paulette met Darnell and they were blessed with a son, Cattron Ivory. Paulette worked in her church and her job at the Board of Education until her health failed her. She will be greatly missed. She leaves a legacy of love and devotion and to celebrate her homegoing her two sons, Michael Crawford of Nashville, TN and Cattron Ivory of Union City, TN, one sister-in-law Barbara Flemimg. She was also blessed with two grandchildren, Destiny Crawford and Michael Crawford Jr., two great-grandchildren Joaquin Smith and Josiah Smith, five nieces, Tracy, Katrina, Tonya, Tiffany, Kimberly, two nephews David and Terrence, all of Memphis, TN., and a host of friends and relatives.
Paulette was proceeded in death by two brothers Phillip Jones Jr. and Jerry Gale Bownes Sr. one nephew Jerry Gale Bownes Jr. and one adopted son Gregory Wilson.
Paulette dedicated her life to serving her community and making a difference in the lives of others. She worked tirelessly at the Board of Education, where she was known for her kindness and compassion.
Paulette will be remembered for her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will forever be cherished.
Paulette Bowens will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
