Pauline G. TackettDecember 9, 1927 - May 8, 2014Pauline Glendora Tackett was born on December 9, 1927 in Carmen, Oklahoma, the second of eight children born to Paul and Ruth Ellis. She passed away in her home after an extended illness at the age of 86, on Thursday, May 8, 2014.At a very young age her family moved to Nampa where she grew up and graduated from Nampa High School in 1947. The next year she met and married Carl Tackett and they recently celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary. Pauline worked for Birds Eye Processing Plant until the local plant closed. Looking for a career change, she attended Boise State and became a nurse, practicing at the Nampa State School and Hospital until her retirement.Pauline enjoyed her involvement with The Salvation Army as a church member and a volunteer, camping with her family and The Good Sam Club, making crafts and spending time with family and friends.She is survived by her husband, Carl Preston Tackett; a son Clinton George (Jean) Tackett; a daughter JoAnn Marie (Benton III) Markham; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and a son, Carl Lee Tackett.A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Nampa Salvation Army, 403 12th Ave. S., Nampa. Parking is available at the Nampa Funeral Home next door. A private burial will be held in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
