Pearl Sowells was called home at 11am Sunday February 23,2020 at the New Dawn Health and Hospice Center in DeSoto,Tx. She was born May 1st 1943 in Corsicana, Tx, to Richard and Wendy Bell. She married Robert Sowells on July 16, 1968 and he survives.

Also surviving are her mother Wendy Bell of Arlington, two sons, Jimmy (Mary) Bell of Corsicana, and Charles Jones of Corsicana; one granddaughter Jill; one grandson Matthew Sowells of Dallas,Tx; one brother Ron (Gillian) Bell; three nephews, Kevin, Simon and David Bell and several cousins.

Her father and one son, Rob Michael Bell preceded her in death.
Janet was a long time resident of Sheldon where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Corsicana at the age of 19. She graduated from Corsicana High School in 1961 and was a librarian at the University of North Texas..

She loved to cook and enjoyed reading and playing card games. She enjoyed antiquing and visiting garage sales on the weekends.
The visitation is from 9 AM until 11 AM on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Golden Gate Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 29, 2020, also at the Golden Gate Funeral Home. Reverend Michael Jones will be officiating. The burial will be at the Laureland Cemetery.
