Pearl Mae Hembree Phillips, 88, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 at the North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness. Pearl was born on February 18, 1928 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the late Ollie Hembree and Gertrude Bowers Hembree. She lived most of her life in the Clarksville area before relocating to Tupelo about 15 years ago to be near her daughters. Pearl was a homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Known by her family and most everyone as MeMaw, her great legacy will be the love and devotion she had for her 12 children, her 33 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren. She was a master seamstress, enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing cards and rocking babies. Pearl was a longtime member of the Blooming Grove Baptist Church in Woodlawn, Tennessee.A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 2, 2016 at her home Church, Blooming Grove Baptist Church in Woodlawn, Tennessee with her son in law, Joe McKeon and Bro. Jerry Shelton speaking. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM-service time on Friday only at the Church. There will be no public visitation in Tupelo.
