Harlingen - On Saturday December 3, 2016, The gates of heaven opened, and our angel Pete flew home. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on 10/19/1933 in Karnes City, Texas, but moved and lived in Harlingen for most of his life.He is survived by his beautiful wife of 63 years, Paulina Zamarripa Elizondo, two sons, Armando (Flora) Elizondo, Gerardo Elizondo, seven daughters, Ana (Eddie) Villafranca, Gloria (Nick) Guerrero, Beatrice (Robert) Moreno, Elva (David) Montelongo, Hilda the late (+David) Vilt, Leticia (Juan) Rios, Gracie (Orlando) Melendez, 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, a brother, Jose Elizondo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Visitation will be Tuesday 12/6/2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. tonight. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery.Honored to be his pallbearers will be his daughters.
