Pete Pino a longtime resident of Anton Chico resident passed away peacefully Sunday, March 20, surrounded by his family, following an illness. He was 90 years young. He was born on May, 13 1925, in Anton Chico to the home of Samuel and Rebecca Pino. Funeral services are scheduled from 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the San Jose Church in, Anton Chico. Serving as [allbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren. Pete Pino served in the U.S. Army during
World War II, He was awarded an American Theater Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Victory Medal. He was assigned to a combat infantry regiment as a rifleman and was skilled in all infantry hand weapons and personal combating methods. Amazingly he returned to Anton Chico safely, and married Agneda Aragon and was married for 62 wonderful years. Soon thereafter they had four children, Lawrence Pino ( Deceased), Evelyn Edmonson and Daniel, Wanda Gallegos and Jude, Cleo Gonzales and Jake; grandchildren, Shane Pino, Fidel Cordova and Celeste, Nathan Cordova and Paula, Judith Gallegos and Marinda, Diego Gallegos and Ivory, Megan Ornales, Jakie Gonzales, Anthony Gonzales and Codie, Donovan Gallegos, Andrew Gonzales, Rick Edmonson and Angel Edmonson; grandson / great- grandson, Jordan Gallegos; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Diego Jr., Alexandria , Makayla, Dillon, Dion, Monique, Jonathan, Monica, Esiah, Noah, Keena, J.R., Audianna and Annabel. Pete Pino retired from the Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools. Pete Pino was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Pino; grandson, Troy Pino; sister, Brigida Montano, Brothers Prospero Pino, Esteven Pino, Samuel Pino Jr., Jose Pino and Abelino Pino. Pete Pino survivors include, sisters, Rebecca Aragon and Celia Marquez; brothers, Cecilio Pino, Reynaldo Pino and Arturo Pino. Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Home in Las Vegas.
