Peggy Joyce Stanley, 89, of Culpeper, died Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Dogwood Village of Orange. She was born August 3, 1933 in Rappahannock County to the late Raymond and Lottie Ann Clatterbuck. 

Peggy loved going to the movies and baseball games with her grandkids. She enjoyed coloring and taking cruises. 

She is survived by her three children, Luther A. Stanley, Jr. (Peggy), Brenda Gourdine (Douglas), and Donnie Stanley (Debbie); nine grandchildren, Lisa Gourdine, Chris Stanley, Sr., Matthew Todd Stanley, Kareem Gourdine, Keisha Arnold, Jason Stanley, Sr., Tiffany Jenkins, Jennifer Medlin, and Chad McWhirt; twenty-two great grandchildren; eight great, great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Ann Smith; and a host of extended family and friends. 

In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Luther A. Stanley, Sr.; and one sister, Mary Elva (Sissy) Ross Smith. 

A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Sandy Martin officiating. 

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Rd, Jeffersonton, VA 22724. Pallbearers that will be serving the family are Kareem Gourdine, Jason Stanley, Sr., Jason Stanley, Jr., Jon Stanley, Hunter Stanley, Zachary Stanley, and Chad McWhirt.
