Peggy Ann Evelyn Korinek, 63, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Though Peggy’s health was failing for years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life, and for her kids and grandkids kept her pushing through the pain.
Peggy was born on April 19, 1959 to Emil and Dolores Korinek of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Peggy loved her family and friends wholeheartedly and unconditionally. She enjoyed spending time with them whether it was going to one of her grandkids sporting events, a day on the lake, a party, or a simple game of Yahtzee. Peggy spent her life living between the cities and up north. Peggy’s greatest accomplishments included owning and operating “Cheeks Saloon” and later becoming a nurse.
Peggy is preceded in death by, her father Emil Korinek, her mother Dolores Korinek, and her brothers, Jim Korinek, Bruce Korinek and Rob Korinek. Peggy is survived by her children, Melissa (Ryan) Westervelt, Brad (Celina) Berglund, Carrie (Eric) Carlson, as well as her grandchildren, Ava, Rylan, Wyatt, Maggie, Brody and Gavin, and many other family members and friends.
Friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Peggy’s life in the way she would want to be remembered. A “Celebration of Life & Memorial Service” open house will be held on Thursday January 26th, 2023 from 12-3 p.m. (memorial service at 1:00 p.m.), at the Mill Site, 111 Harrison Street,
