Peggy Pittman, 73, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed on July 20, 2023. Peggy was born on February 10, 1942, to Mr. James C and Christine Baylis of Columbia, MS. At a young age her parents moved to Milwaukee, WI and Peggy attended high school at St. Benedict Catholic School, graduating in1959. Peggy was united in marriage with Jimmy Green and to their union three children were born.Early in life Peggy chose a career path that would touch the live of many people. She enrolled in modeling school at the Stoney Modeling Agency, became a young business owner, and ventured into the world of Mary Kay as Director. After attending Breland Academy, Peggy enjoyed a career in Cosmetology and became the first beauty store owner in Columbia, MS. Her most recent endeavor led her to become a co-owner of P & J Fashions. She, along with her husband, Rev. Johnnie, were fashion consultants ( Hats, Suits and Accessories) for men and women, not only in Marion County, but in other cities and communities as well. Peggy's journey brought her back to Columbia in 1975, and there she met the love of her life, Rev. Johnnie Pittman, Jr. To this union two more children were added, and without hesitation, Peggy quickly shared her love and nurturing spirit upon their blended family. Peggy was great supporter of her husband's ministry.The hour glass , with its sand of time, spilled over its contents, and with the passing of the last sand Mrs. Peggy Jo Pittman entered into a peaceful sleep with Jesus on July 20, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christine and J.C. Baylis; one sister, Louise; and two brothers, Greg and Floyd.The precious memories of Peggy will be cherished: her husband, Rev. Johnnie Pittman Jr; three daughters, Renee Williams, and Selena (Dervin) Henderson of Milwaukee, WI, Michelle (Alvin Bouldin) of Hattiesburg, MS; two sons, Philippi Green of Columbia, MS and Moran (Elaine) Pittman of Laurel, MS; two children that she loved and cared for as her own, Danny (Cindy) Townsel of Milwaukee, WI and Tondalayo Abram of Columbia, MS; godchildren, Marine CPL James C. Baylis and Bernard C Rhem; Shantana Sims (who was the godsister to her husband, Rev. Pittman and loved by Peggy as well); sisters, Linda Oliver of Columbia, MS, Evelyn Baylis of Kentwood, LA, Wanda Baylis of Milwaukee, WI, brothers Ellis Baylis Sr and Edward Baylis, grandchildren, Verlesha, Johnny, James, Pedro, Alton, Xariah and Sequoia; 18 great grandchildren; special fiends, Barbara Johnson, Ora Nell Ducre, Rebecca Schaffer, Pinky Owens, Nelloise Foxworth, Elizabeth Moore, Janice May, Annette Jackson, and Mary Moore; and a host of other relatives and church families.
