Pennie Rodgers, 88, of Charleston, West Virginia, United States, passed Saturday, April 25, 2020. Pennie was born February 13, 1932 to the late Golden Pettaway and Mary Mooney in Alberta, Alabama. She later moved to Selma, Alabama where she worked as a machine operator for many years before moving to Charleston, West Virginia.
Pennie Pettaway Rodgers aka “Ms. Pennie” was the fifth of twelve children. She is preceded in death by her son Wallace Watson, her grandson’s Gary T. Thomas and Michael V. Reynolds, her parents Golden Pettaway and Mary Mooney, her eleven siblings and her soul mate David Smith.
She leavers to cherish her memories and celebrate her life her seven children, Ballery Johnson (Monroe) Willie A. Watson Jr., Patricia Watson (Larry), Pam Smith (Leo), Reginald Watson (Vanessa), Billy Wayne Rodgers, Shelia Reynolds (Ronald), 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a few great-great grandchildren, a cousin Rufus Austin, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and longtime friends Kim Galloway and Shirley Thomas of Charleston, West Virginia.
