It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Perry "Sonny" James Jackson, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend. Sonny was born on January 22, 1949, Georgia and passed away on December 8, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family

He lost his battle with lung cancer.

Sonny was a man full of love for his family and had a passion for the great outdoors. Whether it was a simple walk in the park, a hiking trip, or just enjoying the fresh air from his backyard, Sonny was happiest when he was basking in nature. His love for the outdoors was only rivaled by his love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom he spent countless joyful hours creating cherished memories, spoiling them as well as teaching them about life.

Sonny's favorite color was green, a testament to his love for nature and his zest for life. Many will remember the twinkle in his eyes when he shared stories of his adventures and the way his face lit up when surrounded by his loving family.

Sonny served in the vietnam war, was a recipient of two purple hearts  and many other medals. He was a welder and fabricator and mechanic at Donald Duck and then to Peterson industries for 35 years.  Nancy, lee and Sam were like family to him he didn't even want to retire because of that. Sonny was one of a kind, he workd hard and supported his family, would help anyone in need, and was a man of his word.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 50+ years, Sandra Kay Jackson, their sons, Aaron Jackson ,lake wales and Timmothy Jackson,(Kolette) Tennessee . He was a loving grandfather (PapaJ)  to Austin Jackson(Georgiana), Caden Jackson and Cheyenne Jackson, and Tyler Joyce. Greatgrand kids Faith Jackson,  Emerson, Emitt and Eniya . Many nieces and nephews and extended family.  Sonny's passing will undoubtedly leave a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, for his jokes, funny personality,  good heart but his spirit will forever live on through the rich legacy of love and joy that he leaves behind.
