Walsh, Peter T. 89, of Phoenix, passed away on January 4, 2017 at his home. Peter was born on October 31, 1927, the fourth of eight children, to John and Catherine Walsh in South Boston, Massachusetts. He served proudly in the U.S. Army on two separate occasions between 1946 and 1953. Following his service, Peter began a long career with New England Telephone and Telegraph Company in Massachusetts. After moving his family to Arizona in 1967, he went on to retire from the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company. Peter just celebrated his 60th Anniversary in November to his wife, Maureen (nee Malloy). He is survived by six children: Joe (wife Marilynn) of Peoria, AZ; Kerry Keegan (late husband Drew) of Billerica, MA; Deirdre Syms of Chesterfield, MI; Anne Marie Slawson (husband Jerry) of Phoenix; Kevin (wife Bea) of Boston; and David of Irvine, CA. Peter is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Christine Terry of Detroit; Emily Keegan of Boston; Maggie Walsh of Boston; Kathleen Keegan of Milwaukee; James Walsh of Boston; Will Syms of Chesterfield, MI; Ryan Slawson of Phoenix; Brad Walsh of Irvine, CA; Brenna Slawson of Phoenix; and Matthew Walsh of Irvine, CA; a sister Catherine "Tini" Dillon of Springfield, VT; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th St, Phoenix 85020. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 9, 2017 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 330 W. Coral Gables Dr., Phoenix 85023. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek, Phoenix 85024.
