Philip C. BroadFINDLAY: Philip C. Broad, 79, of Findlay, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his residence. He was born on May 11, 1937 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late James W. and Irene M. (Westerbeck) Broad. On March 15, 1964, Philip married the love of his life, Mary Ann Eaton, and together they had five children.Philip graduated from Clyde High School and attended Toledo University. He worked for Whirlpool in Clyde from 1964 - 1967, transferring to Findlay Whirlpool in 1967 and retiring in 1995 with 31 Human Resource Administrator years. Philip loved his grandkids and great-grandkids and watching them in all their sports events. He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church where he enjoyed his men's bible study, and formerly served on the Clyde Fire Department. He really enjoyed family gatherings and was an avid OSU fan. Philip loved spending time with his wife Mary and going on small trips. He proudly served his country in the US Navy before being honorably discharged. Philip is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 53 years; his sons, Lonnie (Harriet) Eaton, Randy, and James (Michelle) Broad all of Findlay; and daughter, Robin Glick of Arlington. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.Phil was one of the first individuals hired to help bring Whirlpool Corporation to Findlay, Ohio in 1967. He retired in August 1995 and his legacy is best remembered as an advocate for all employees throughout his career as a human resource administrator. He was a kind and gentle leader who was proactive in including others and treating everyone with highest level of respect. Phil's office was a shrine to the Ohio State Buckeyes and he was proudly known as "Buck" throughout the plant.The family wish all attending to feel free to wear scarlet and grey colors. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 1 - 3 p.m. and 5 - 7 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held March 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Walt Sheppard officiating. The Hancock County Veteran's Memorial Squad will perform full military rites.
