Philip R. Vigil, 41, passed away on Aug. 29, 2015, peacefully at home.Phil was born on July 22, 1974, to Barney Vigil Sr. and Laura Jane.He is preceded in death by his father: Barney Vigil Sr.; brother: Barney Vigil Jr.; special niece: Brandi Vigil; paternal grandparents: Roberto and Predicanda Vigil; and maternal grandparents: Felipe Vigil and Fabby and Beatriz Mares.In 1992, Phil graduated from Mora High School and attended NMHU. He later established his own construction company, Ojo Feliz Custom Builders. For many years, he worked at Chevron Mines in Questa. Phil was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. During his spare time, he loved spending time with his family and many friends.He is survived by his mother: Laura Jane Vigil of Ojo Feliz; daughter: Kaitlyn Vigil and (her mother: Carlota Sanchez); special nephews: Beau and Brady Vigil, fiancée: Naomi Vialpando, and her daughters: Kristi and Johnny Gonzales, Juanita Swazo, and Elisha Swazo; uncles and aunts: Jack and Linda Vigil of Cleveland, Charlie and MaryJo of Las Vegas, Leroy and Ida Vigil of Las Vegas, Henry Vasquez of Ojo Feliz, Jessie Vigil of Ojo Feliz, MaryAnn and Carlos Lozano of Mesquite, Larry Dan Vigil and Barbara, Charlotte Gallegos, Phyllis and Savino Lopez all of Albuquerque, Betty Balderas of Wagon Mound, Edwin Vigil of Wagon Mound, Al Jackson of Colorado; great-aunt: Lupe Vigil of Cimarron. He is survived by numerous cousins and close friends whom he shared special bonds with.Philip was a kind and loving person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Rosary will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday with a mass immediately following at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Following the funeral, cremation and a burial will take place at a later date. Serving as pallbearers will be: Beau Vigil, Brady Vigil, Derrick Vigil, Eldy Vigil, Robert Valdez, Jason Vigil, Anastacio Balderas.
