Phillip Joseph "Joe" Long73, of Port Richey, FL, previously of Beech Grove, passed away on December 24, 2016. He was born on July 9, 1943 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late James Franklin Long and Mary Maxine Long.Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting Coca Cola memorabilia, listening to 50's music, his trips to Vegas, watching football, especially the Denver Broncos, he enjoyed watching Peyton Manning.Joe started his career at Penn Central Railroad working with his father. He owned and operated Fountain Beverages for 15 years. Joe later owned and operated Joe's Shelby Street Diner for 10 years.Joe is survived by his significant other, Ruth Carey; children, Patricia Ann (Long) Taft, husband, Larry, Jodie Lynn (Long) Elliott, husband, Jeff, Phillip Joseph Long, Jr., wife, Kim and Jennifer Renee (Long) Barkley, husband, Andy; siblings, Frances Ann Candela, Alice Jean French, Sandra Carol Nelson, Vicki Lynn McGown and James Franklin Long Jr.; 10 grandchildren. Joe's son, John Mark Long preceded him in death.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
