Phyllis A. SwitzerLANCASTER: Phyllis A. Switzer, 85, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday January 1st, 2017 at the Pickering House. Phyllis was born on March 23rd, 1931 in Basil, Ohio to the late Forrest and Dorothy Switzer. She retired from Western Electric, where she worked for many years. Phyllis loved to garden and was a member of the Dawes Arboretum in Newark. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved the outdoors.Phyllis is survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members; as well as her friends.She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Switzer; and sister, Miriam Loy.Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at 2PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Kevin Seymour officiating. Friends may visit on Saturday from 12PM until the service time. Burial is to take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rushville at a later date.
