Preston R. BrickerRailroadPreston R. Bricker, 92, died on Thursday January 21, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband to Betty J. (Hackler) Hill-Bricker with whom he shared 29 years of marriage and to the late Janet A. (Boyer) Bricker. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday January 26, 2016 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with John M. Napp, Nevin Lucabaugh and Robert Brown officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bower's Cemetery, New Freedom. Preston was born on November 15, 1923 in Railroad, the son of the late John H. and Fayetta E. (Swartzbaugh) Bricker. He was a self-employed farmer in the railroad area for all his life.He was a member of New Freedom Church of the Brethren where he was a Trustee for many years. Preston was an avid hunter and trapper of coon, deer and bear. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling. He had traveled to Germany, Thailand, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and to 46 states. Besides his wife, he also leaves a daughter; Joyce Glatfelter of Jacobus; a son, Ronald Bricker and wife. Joan of Emporium, Pa.; step children, Jason Hill, Stanley Hill, and Sharon Jackson; four grandchildren, Brent Hare and his girlfriend, Sandee Martin, Kim Canfield and her husband, Harry, Brian Bricker and wife, Nicole, and Patti Schmader; six step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, and Rebecca Hare, Isaac, Isaiah, Autumn, and Allison Bricker, and Matthew and Emily Schmader; nine step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, Amara and Elijah. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Elias, Harry, Irvin, and Paul Bricker; and three sisters, Katherine Bubb, Eva Smeltzer, and Betty Jane Bricker.
