Quenda Jan Shults passed away in Sun City, Ariz. on Oct. 19, 2016, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Quenda was born on Jan. 17, 1950, in Brownwood, Texas, to Quenton T. and Lenora June Shults. She grew up in Ruidoso and Roswell. She is survived by her daughter, Amelia Shults, of Taos; her partner of 38 years, John Hill, of Bisbee, Ariz., and a brother, Michael, of Arlington, Texas. She attended New Mexico Highlands University and worked with the juveniles in the State Hospital. She had many interests and was known and for her healing feeling herbal tinctures She was also known and respected as Quenda Healing Woman and performed many healing rituals in that capacity.For the last 20 years of her life she devoted herself to her paintings. Her art work was carried by 55 Main and other art galleries in Bisbee, Ariz. Her art work was admired and collected by people throughout the country. She will be missed and mourned by many friends and family and will also be remembered for her long walks around town with her beloved dachshund, Romeo.
