Queenie Wilson

December 9th, 1950 - September 25, 2023

Queenie Wilson, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and community member, passed away on September 25, 2023, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Born on January 1, 1950, Queenie lived a life of compassion, strength, and grace that touched the lives of all those who knew her.

Queenie was born to John and Margaret Wilson in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Being the eldest of 3 children, she took on the role of a protective and nurturing older sister from a young age. Her strong sense of responsibility and care for others became evident early on and continued throughout her life.

After completing high school, Queenie enrolled in the University of Virginia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. Her deep empathy for others and desire to make a difference in the lives of those facing adversity guided her career choice.

Queenie started her professional journey as a social worker, working tirelessly to support and advocate for families and individuals in need. She brought positivity and determination to her work, always going above and beyond to provide assistance and ensure the well-being of those she served.

Outside of her work, Queenie's greatest joy was her family. She met the love of her life, Robert Wilson, during her time at university. Their shared values and aspirations formed the foundation of a beautiful and fulfilling marriage that lasted over four decades.

Queenie and Robert were blessed with three children, Earnest, Robert Jr, and Patricia. She poured her heart and soul into raising them, instilling in them the importance of love, kindness, and resilience. Queenie was their unwavering source of support and encouragement, cheering them on through all their successes and comforting them in times of hardship. She relished her role as a devoted mother and created a warm and loving home environment that will forever be remembered.

Queenie's influence extended beyond her immediate family. She was an active member of her community, volunteering her time and energy to various organizations. She selflessly shared her knowledge and experiences to provide guidance and support to those in need. Whether it was mentoring young adults or assisting at local shelters, Queenie's dedication to helping others knew no bounds.

In addition to her community service, Queenie had a passion for gardening and the arts. She found solace and joy in tending to her vibrant flower beds, creating a haven of beauty in her backyard. Queenie's artistic talents extended to painting, where she would spend hours lost in the creative process, bringing to life breathtaking landscapes and portraits.

Queenie's warm smile, kind heart, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience, reminding us all to cherish our loved ones and embrace life's precious moments.

Queenie is survived by her beloved children, Earnest Wilson and, Robert Jr, her grandchildren, Sandra Jackson, Bianca Wilson and Marzett Wilson; her siblings, David Thompson, Elizabeth (Daniel), and Michael (Susan); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A memorial service celebrating Queenie's life will be held on September 25, 2023, at 2:00 pm. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey.

In honor of Queenie's passion for helping others, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Mercer county, Community Assistance Program or the American Red Cross.
