HAMILTON — Quentin Homer Watkins, 90, died Monday, July 18, 2016 at his home in Cold Springs, Hamilton. He was born on Aug. 16, 1925 to Roscoe and Georgia (Todd) Watkins at home at Cold Springs Resort, Hamilton. Mr. Watkins graduated from Hamilton High School in 1944 when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps serving with the 4th War Dog Platoon, 1st Marine Division in the Pacific. He graduated from Hillsdale College in 1950 and joined the Central Intelligence Agency serving in Baghdad, Iraq, Jerusalem, Palestine (Jordan), Istanbul, Turkey, Lahore, Pakistan, and three times in Vietnam and Washington D.C. He retired in 1975 and returned to Hamilton where he took an active part in local service groups. He was a life member of the Angola Masonic Lodge and the Hamilton Veteran of Foreign War. He was a member of the Association for Intelligence Officers, Hamilton Odd Fellows Lodge and the Hamilton American Legion Post 467. Surviving are seven nephews and nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Lyle Watkins, Robert Watkins and David Watkins, and three sisters, Virginia Friend, Marjorie McFadden and Mary Lowe. Military graveside services will be Tuesday, July 26, at 1 p.m. at Circle Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be by the Hamilton American Legion Post 467. Condolences may be left at www.weichtfh.com.
