This obituary is administered by:

In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Quintin Nathaniel Yancey Sr., who left this world on September 15 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 64. Born on July 22, 1961, in Newark, New Jersey, Quintin lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Quintin grew up in Newark, where he developed a deep appreciation for family, friendship, and faith. From an early age, he carried a strong sense of responsibility and determination that would guide him throughout his life. After graduating high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country with honor. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, Quintin displayed leadership, courage, and commitment—values he would continue to carry into his civilian life. His time in the military instilled in him discipline and resilience, but also a deep compassion for others, especially his fellow veterans.

A devoted Hebrew Israelite, Quintin followed the teachings of Yahawah, our God, and lived a life guided by prayer, service, and faith. His home was a sanctuary where love, laughter, and fellowship flourished. Quintin’s creative spirit shone brightly through his drawing, singing, and dancing, sharing joy and inspiration with family and friends alike.

Quintin is preceded in death by his parents, Nathan James Yancey Sr. and Rosa Lee Carter. He leaves behind his loving family who will carry forward his legacy of devotion and faith: his devoted wife of 20 years, Charline Green; his children, Quintin Yancey Jr., Quinette, Quincy, Leroy, and Charque; his twin sister, Quinette Vanessa Yancey, and her husband; his brothers, Nathan James Yancey Jr. and Charles Leroy Yancey Sr. and his wife; and a host of nieces and nephews. His precious grandson, Gabriel, brought immense joy and pride to his life.

Quintin’s story is one of service, faith, and love. He served his country as a soldier, his family as a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and his community through prayer and compassion. His spirit will continue to live on in the laughter of his children, the smiles of his grandchildren, and the cherished memories he created with all who knew him.

May his soul rest peacefully in Yahawah’s care, and may those who loved him find comfort in the enduring light of his memory.
