Rachel Dorothy Anderson Clipps (Victor) was born October 11, 1916, to Richard Anderson and Nettie Augustus Anderson in Breaux Bridge, LA. She departed this life on August 21, 2023, at the age of 106 at her home with her family by her side. Ms. Rachel resided in Jennings, LA. and New Orleans, LA before making Breaux Bridge, LA. her permanent resident. Ms. Rachel was educated in the Jennings Parish school system in 1920-1935. In 1943 she married Clarence Clipps, they would go on to have five children: Clarence James, Nettie Mariah, Anderson Holt, Shelia Ann and Richard Ossie Clipps. Ms. Rachel earned a Certified Nurse's Aide certificate and worked at Charity Hospital in New Orleans in Labor and Delivery for 15 years. Later, transferring to Charity Hospital in Lafayette, LA, working there another 15 years. After Ms. Rachel's retirement, she volunteered at a local nursing home in Lafayette, LA. In 1925 Ms. Rachel's parents, Richard and Nettie, along with two other couples became joint founders of the Progressive Baptist Church where she would become a member. Years later, after the death of her husband Clarence, Ms. Rachel married Rev. Morris Victor. Affectionally called Sister Victor by the members of the Progressive Baptist Church where she would serve as a Deaconess. Ms. Rachel will be dearly missed and always remembered by all who knew her. Ms. Rachel is predeceased by her parents Richard and Nettie Anderson, her first husband Clarence Clipps, second husband Rev. Morris Victor. Four brothers, Joseph, Simone, Clarence J and Augustus J. Anderson. Three sisters, Ethel, Louise L. Anderson and Ann Anderson-Ash. Daughter, Nettie Clipps-McClarty. Sister-N-Law, Lovie Clipps, Brother-N-Laws, Ossy Clipps Jr, Alvin Clipps, Sr. and great-grand son D'Anthony C. Clipps. Ms. Rachel is survived by her four children, Clarence J. Clipps (Diane), Anderson H. Clipps Sr. (Linda), Shelia A. Clipps, Richard O. Clipps (Joyce) and Jimmy L. Clipps and a host of many grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives.
