In loving memory of our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Rafaela Cardenas Larios. Mom passed away peacefully in her home on April 16, 2016 in Ventura, California with her family by her side.

Born on October 14, 1947 to Ramona Larios and Urbano Cardenas in Michoacan, Mexico (El Mamey). She was the 6th child of 4 brothers (Seferino, Salomon, Aniceto and Reyes Cardenas) 7 sisters (Ofelia, Elena, Edelmira, Clemencia, Aurelia, Ramona and Elia Cardenas). Mom was raised by her aunt Ana Maria Larios, acquiring 3 more siblings (Miguel, Edelmira, and Ramona Lucatero). At the age of 12 years mom came to the U.S. and resided in Santa Barbara, California where she raised her two daughters, Rosa and Luz Maria Cardenas and her nephew Arturo Huerta, whom she loved as her own son.

In 2014, mom moved to Ventura, California where she helped raise her grandchildren Juan, Annissa, Angel and Alina.

Mom was a very strong woman who showed us to be strong and hard working as this was what she always did for her family.

Rafaela is survived by her two daughters, Rosa and Luz Maria Cardenas, her grandchildren, Juan, Annissa, Angel and Alina, her brother Reyes Cardenas, her sisters Elena, Edelmira, Clemencia, Ramona, Aurelia, Elia and her son-in-law Juan.

Until we meet again mom, you will always be in our hearts and you will always be the back bone of our family. Gone but never forgotten.
