Ralph B. James, 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the Logan Regional Hospital on March 25, 2010, due to natural causes. He was born on Feb. 5, 1925, to Heber George and Jennie Bradley James in Logan, Utah, the fourth of five sons. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended Logan High School, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943. Ralph was Career Army and served honorably for 27 years. He served in three Wars: World War II, the Korean conflict and he served two tours of duty in the Vietnam conflict. While serving in the Army, he met the love of his life, Corinne Noel, through pen-pal letters and then went to her hometown of Milford, Conn., to see her in person and meet her family. They were later married there on Nov. 15, 1952. They lived in Niagra Falls, N.Y.; Germany; Japan and Southern Calif. After he retired from the Army, he worked in Southern Calif., for a time and then he moved his family back to Logan, Utah. Ralph, worked several different jobs in this area and then retired to his home in Nibley, Utah. Ralph truly loved all of his family. He is survived by his children: Keith (Susan) James, Logan; Lorri (Bob) Larsen, Roy; daughter-in-law, Kim James, Providence. Three grandchildren: Brandi, Bryce, and Ryan. Two great-grandchildren: Javen and Drake. Two brothers: Donald H. (Maxine) James, Nibley; and Wilford (Ann) James, Logan. A sister-in-law, Joyce James, Kearns, Utah. He was preceded in death: by his beloved sweetheart, "Cory", she died on Jan. 15, 2006; his parents, Heber and Jennie James and two brothers, Dan Kirby and Henry A. James. The family would like to sincerely thank all of the many medical support people, who have been so much help to Ralph and his family over the past year. Funeral services will be held at Allen-Hall Mortuary at 34 E. Center, Logan, at noon on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. A viewing will be held at the Mortuary from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the services.
