This obituary is administered by:
Ralph Carter Lasure, 64, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at his residence. He was born on April 18, 1950, in Stanford, to Manles and Grace Gilpin Lasure. He was a Campbellsville University graduate, where he met his wife of 39 years, Dorinda, and earned a master's degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University. After teaching four years in Lincoln County, he retired from Bethlehem High School after 31 years teaching English literature and Greek mythology, and later taught at Bluegrass Christian Academy. He was very involved in the speech and drama programs at Bethlehem, leading them to Regionals, State and Catholic Nationals in Washington, D.C. In 2004, he was inducted into the Kentucky High School Speech League Hall of Fame, and each summer he loved to travel with students on study tours to Europe. He was a mentor to many and a thoughtful, kind, and genuine person. He will be truly missed. Survivors include his wife, Dorinda Bradbury Lasure; a son; Chris Lasure (Meredith); three grandchildren, Lauren Yaste, Logan Livers and Samuel Lasure; five siblings; Mary Alice Still, Manles Lasure Jr., Paul Lasure, Charles Lasure and Alberta Wood; and several nieces and nephews. To honor Carter's wishes the family has chosen cremation with a celebration of Carter's life to be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Down's Syndrome of Louisville, 5001 S. Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville KY 40291. Arch L. Heady at Resthaven is in charge of arrangements.
