BURLINGTON - Age 90, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Waterford Senior Living. Ralph was born on July 9, 1922 in Burlington, to the late Frank H. and Helen L. (nee Ebbers) Epping. He was a lifetime resident of the Burlington area and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1940. Ralph proudly served in the United States Navy from March of 1943 until November of 1945. He served as a fighter pilot on an aircraft carrier over the South Pacific. On October 8, 1949 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover, Ralph was united in marriage to Nancy J. Gorman. Together they made their home in Kansasville and then Burlington. Ralph worked as a Credit manager for both Burlington Memorial Hospital and the Burlington Clinic and later as the City Clerk for Burlington. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kansasville and Burlington, the VFW, the Burlington Kiwanis Club and an active 20 year member of the Tuesday Night Club. Ralph loved golfing and enjoyed watching and attending sporting events as well as traveling with his wife, Nancy. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy, their children; Carol (Mark) Huckstorf of Burlington, Margaret (David Kaiser) Epping of Burlington, Mary Ellen (Hugh) Beach of Milwaukee and Andrew (Jackie) Epping of Duluth, GA, 11 grandchildren, 11great-grandchildren and by a brother, Raymond Epping of Burlington. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Vic Epping, a sister Mary Busch and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington with Rev. James Volkert officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Saturday, November 10, from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Memorials have been suggested to St. Mary’s Schools or to the Burlington Rescue Squad. Ralph’s family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Mt.
