Ralph H. Kenning Sr., 72, passed away on Monday, Sept. 7, 2015 at his DeMotte residence.  Ralph was born on Nov. 12, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Lewis and Dora (Saunders) Kenning, both are deceased.Ralph was a graduate of the DeMotte High School, class of 1961.  On June 29, 1965, Ralph married Ellen (Nannenga).  Ralph was a self-employed truck driver for many years and had formerly owned and operated the Kenning Small Engine Repair Shop and The Hobby Shop in DeMotte.  He and Ellen also operated the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in DeMotte for 6 years.  He proudly served in the National Guard Reserves, was a member of the DeMotte American Legion Post #440 and a member of the  V.F.W.   Ralph was a member of the American Reformed Church in DeMotte.Ralph leaves behind his loving wife, Ellen; sons, Ralph (Charity) Kenning Jr of Hebron, Bob (Jill) Kenning of DeMotte; grandchildren, Steve Wilson, Haylee Kenning and Xander Kenning;  great-grandchild, Carter Wilson; brother, John "Jack" Kenning of DeMotte.Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.Friends may visit from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte, on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte, with Pastor Dan Jelsma officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or The Chronic Disease Fund in Plano,Texas.
