Ramona Garcia

Peoria, Arizona - Ramona "Mona" Garcia, 68, peacefully passed away on March 25, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 18, 1955, in New York City and grew up as a city girl.

As a young woman, Mona moved to Arizona where she truly found her place in the world. Her love for the desert and her community was evident in everything she did, from her involvement in local charity organizations to her legendary backyard barbecues.

Mona had a passion for cooking and was known for her signature dish, chili con carne, which she entered into every local chili cook-off. She also loved dancing and could often be found on the dance floor at her favorite country music spot, The Rusty Spur.

She was a devoted mother to her two children, Jesse and Maria, and a doting grandmother to her four grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her contagious laughter, her fierce loyalty, and her unwavering kindness.

Mona is survived by her children, grandchildren, and her sister Maria. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rest in peace, Mona. Your memory will live on through your amazing chili and your even more amazing spirit.
