Mr. Randall Earl Reid, after battling lung cancer, died October 31, 2016, in the peace of the beautiful view of the lake that he loved so much with his daughters on each arm telling him how loved he was. Randy was born on September 10, 1949, in Oceanside California, to Wallace Jordan Reid and Barbara A'Laine Sorensen (Brenaman). Randall attended Clover Park High School in Tacoma, Washington, and then went on to college at Puget Sound University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts and business major with an emphasis in accounting. Randy served in our country's military from 1968 to 1970 as a Marine in the Vietnam War as an artillery operation chief. After two years' service, he was honorably discharged. In 1968 Randy met and married Susan Marie Urry (Reid) and they had two beautiful daughters, Danielle and Jennifer. In 1986, they divorced after 18 years but remained good friends. Randy never remarried. Randy started out early in the forest and timber industry. He was a millworker at Lindal Cedar mill in Tacoma Washington, then moved to Longview, Washington, to work for Weyerhaeuser. In 1978, Randy moved to Port Angeles to work at ITT Rayonier. In 1986, he began his 25-year run as the real estate arm of Green Crow as the controller of operations, for the company and also the controller of the New Zealand project. He retired at the age of 62. Randy spent 30-plus years as a resident of Lake Sutherland, and he did many things for the Mallard Cove community. To say Randall Earl Reid was a giving man is clearly an understatement.Randy served as a volunteer on both Port Angeles Rayonier Federal Credit Union and Strait-View Credit Union's Board of Directors for over 25 years. He served on various committees and worked hard to help keep the credit union remain relevant and profitable. The credit union staff, board of directors, and supervisory committee members have expressed their appreciation to our family and friends for his loyalty, dedication and willingness to serve on the board. Those who worked with him over the years said he will be irreplaceable and truly missed.Randy had the kindest heart and always made sure that everyone was happy and having a good time. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone. He was the definition of LOVE. Family was always number one, and his kids, grandkids and great-grandbabies were his whole world. He was the life of the party and a true " lakerat" with his over-the-top Fourth of July celebrations and will be remembered by many of his funny moments like his " Viking Burial." You could always count on Randy to capture the most important moments on camera. Randall Earl Reid will be remembered by his family and friends as an amazing father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a good friend to all who knew him.
