Raul Mora, Sr., 86, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, was called to heaven on Friday, February 17, 2017. Mr. Mora was born on March 26, 1930 to Isidoro and Josefina Mora in Smelter Town and was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. He was a proud U.S. Veteran who served on the
Army and fought in the
Korean War. Mr. Mora retired from Asarco after working there for over 30 years. He is preceded in death by his Son, Guillermo (Willie) Mora; Parents, Isidoro and Josefina Mora; Siblings, Felipe Mora, Emilio Mora, Zenon Mora, Max Mora and Ofelia Moran and Step-Son, Edward Hidalgo. Mr. Mora is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mercedes Mora; former wife and mother of his children, Enriqueta Bustamante; Children, Raul Mora, Jr. (Dolores), Edwardo Mora, Belinda Sanchez (Juan), Irene Barriga (Louie), and Katherine Koenemann (Gary); Step-Children, Leticia Ortiz, Rebecca Hidalgo, Johnny Hidalgo, Susana Hidalgo and Joe Hidalgo; Siblings, Isidoro Mora, Jr., Eugenia Torres and Aurelia Sanchez; 16 Grandchildren; 38 Great-Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Hours of Visitation for Mr. Mora will be from 6 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at El Paso Mission Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (602 S. Oregon St.). Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at a later date and time.
