This obituary is administered by:
Ray Andrew MinklerLogan, Utah - United again! Ray Andrew Minkler passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014, at the age of 93. He is united again with the love of his life, Aileen Chambers Minkler, who passed away eight months prior, and their son, James Rodney Minkler, who had suffered a football injury in high school that left him quadriplegic. For the next 23 years, Ray and Aileen did a marvelous work in allowing Jim to prosper in every way. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Tacy Faye Davis, and a brother, Rodney Jones (Lorna).Ray was loved as a husband, father, grandfather and business leader. His life was one of integrity, honesty, hard work and a commitment to leave the world a better place for those who crossed his path. Ray was born on Sept. 21, 1920, in Ogden, Utah, to Dorothy Mary (Wheatley) and Ray Andrew Minkler. Ray graduated from Utah State Agriculture College with a major in accounting and business administration. He used his education and native intelligence and skills to accomplish great things in the business world. He had an uncanny ability to turn failing businesses around. Ray was the General Manager of Trenton Feed Cooperative for 24 years. At the same time, he often would take two days a week to troubleshoot for co-ops having difficulty from Provo, Salt Lake City and Ogden. CENEX recognized Ray as one of the top 10 managers in their system of several thousand co-ops.Ray was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in two bishoprics, several terms as a stake or ward clerk, two high councils, young men's president, among others. In later years Ray and Aileen enjoyed greatly the opportunity to serve as officiators in the Logan Temple. They also had the blessing of serving on a work service mission. Ray and Aileen's greatest service, of course, was to their son, Jim, allowing him to have a productive and fulfilling life.Ray is survived by his son, Ray George Minkler (Rita), of River Heights; two daughters, of Logan; Linda Peterson (Jay) and Dorothy Davis, 10 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, May 9, in the 43rd Ward chapel, 1255 N. 600 East in Logan. Friends may call at the church between 10 and 11:30 a.m. on Friday morning. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Funeral directors are Allen-Hall Mortuary. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a contribution to The LDS Church General Missionary Fund, or any . Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.allenmortuaries.net.
