Raymond Leo CloutierAge: 69 • BenningtonRaymond Leo Cloutier, 69, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017.Raymond was born on July 27, 1947, in Burlington, the son of Yvonne (Rousseau) and Joseph Cloutier. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Cloutier, his sisters Pauline Hamlin, Rita Walton, Helen Rosenblum, and his brother Robert Cloutier. He is also survived by his dear friend Gloria Boutin. He was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings George Cloutier, Henry Cloutier, Alice Wingerter, Edna Brown, Claire LaPlant, Moe Cloutier, and Sue Dreyer.After graduating from Rice High School, he served in the Navy. He then attended Vermont Technical College. Ray worked at IBM in Essex Junction, Vermont for many years and then worked at Bennington Microtechnology, and most recently at NSK in Bennington.Raymond's hobbies included boating, woodworking, and mechanics. In fact he was known for his eagerness to lend a hand whenever someone had a car problem. In recent years, he enjoyed traveling in his RV.Many thanks to the caring nurses and doctors in the west wing at Bennington Hospital. No service will be held, but rather a private remembrance ceremony will be held in the summer near Ray's Childhood home in Burlington.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bennington Project Independence, 614 Harwood Hill, PO Box 1504, Bennington, Vt., 05201.
