Raymond "Buddy" O'Gwynn, 90, of Beverly Hills, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto. He was born on September 3, 1926 in Meridian, Mississippi and moved to Florida in 1957. He proudly served his country during
WWII as a United States Marine in the South Pacific Campaign. He retired from Sunbeam Bakery of Lakeland, FL after 37 years as an area sales manager. He was a member of the Fort Cooper Baptist Church in Inverness.Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Evelyn; his 2 sons, Wayne O'Gwynn and his wife Jane and Gary O'Gwynn and his wife Bernice, both of Crystal River; his 2 sisters, Mildred Hollingsworth of Silver Springs, MD and Peggy Graham of Haines City, FL; one granddaughter, Debbie Baker of Crystal River; one grandson, Travis O'Gwynn and his wife Savanah of Northport, FL; one great granddaughter, Kaley Baker of Crystal River; many nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with Pastor Marne Palmani officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Marine Corps Detachment #819. Friends will be received at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory of Inverness on Tuesday at 1:00 PM prior to leaving in procession to the cemetery at 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Ft. Cooper Baptist Church.
