Ostrowski, RaymondRaymond Ostrowski, of Milwaukee, formerly of Stevens Point, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at the age of 90.He was born on Oct. 29, 1926, in the Portage County town of New Hope, to the late Martin and Victoria (Zdroik) Ostrowski.Following high school, Raymond proudly served in the
U.S. Navy during
World War II, having earned the Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Fireman First Class.Raymond was previously married for 30 years to Phyllis Berna (Apache Junction, Arizona) and resided in Milwaukee where they raised their family.Raymond was a meticulous carpenter, having worked for several construction companies throughout his 50+ year membership in the Carpenters Union Local 264. He enjoyed gardening, dancing and listening to polka music, Brewers baseball, hunting and fishing. Raymond was a member of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Pewaukee.Survivors include his daughters, Susan (Paul) Westcott of Phoenix, Arizona, Sandra Ostrowski of Glendale, Arizona, Sally Walker of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Carol (Darrell) Kaehler of Pewaukee; grandchildren, Lauren (Mackenzy) Westcott-Miller, Devon Walker, Drew Walker, Cameron and Colin Kaehler; and sister, Gladys (Vermond-deceased) Schmidt of Germantown.In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his step-mother, Anna (Zoromski) Ostrowski; brothers, Emil (Isabel), Robert (Bernice) and Chester (Dorothy-surviving) Ostrowski; sisters, Dorothy (Ernest) Mrochinski, Bridget (John) Kalman, Clara (Tony) Dainelli, Agnes (Alvin) Zblewski, Regina (Florian) Rogowski, and Evelyn (John) Kujawski.He was also pre-deceased by his step-siblings, Evelyn (Nick) Bigalke, John Zoromski, Emil (Regina) Zoromski, William (Helen) Zoromski, Marge (Chet) Johnson, Ben Zoromski, Ed Zoromski, Grace Zoromski, Jean Carpenter, Irene Miller and Agnes Zoromski; and his dearest friend, Delores Gruna.In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name with the .A special thanks to the dedicated staff at Care Wisconsin, Brookfield Rehabilitation and Allay Hospice for their care and concern.The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia with the Rev. Gregory Michaud officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second St. in Stevens Point, and again at the church on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass.
