Raymond Pasqual Tarango, 52, was called home to be with to be with our Lord on Friday Aug. 24, 2012. He was surrounded by his friends and family. He was born on April 10, 1960 to Jose and Maria Tarango in Portales, N.M.Raymond was a jack of all trades. He was blessed with a multitude of skills and talents. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing his guitar and socializing with his friends and family. He was often the life of the party and would help anyone in need.He is survived by his lifelong companion, Eloisa Gutierrez of Clovis; two daughters, Lydia "Perky" Tarango and her partner Chris Gebel of Albuquerque, and Felicia Rivera and her husband Dennis of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Gody and Gabrielle; godson, Joey Montoya and family of Belen; his brothers and sisters, Socorro and the late Hermino Franco of Andrews, Texas, Jessie and Gloria Tarango of Andrews, Texas, Ermalinda and Jimy Garcia of Portales, Virginia and Carlos Gallegos of Portales, Nicholasa "Nicki" Mondragon of Portales, J.R. Tarango and Heather of Portales, Jane Tarango of Portales, Faustina and Daniel Becerra of Portales, Cruz Tarango and his partner Larry Fogg of Portales, and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death his parents, Jose and Maria Tarango; sister, Guadalupe Tarango, nephew, Ivan Garcia, and a great niece, Glory Dawn Olivas.Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Portales. Burial followed in the Portales Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers were: Zachary Madrid, Speedy Gutierrez, Rachel Gallegos, Jessie Tarango, Joey Montoya, Vincent Montoya, Cruz Tarango, and Diane Mondragon. Honorary casketbearers were: Dennis Rivera, Christopher Gebel, Jessie Tarango, Sr., JR Tarango, and Cody and Gabriella Rivera.Services were under the care and direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home, 800 E.
