Raymond S. LevertonBARTONVILLE - Raymond S. Leverton, 98, of Bartonville passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016, at Courtyard Estates of Farmington.He was born on July 13, 1918, in Mount Sterling, IL, to John E. and Arley (Moke) Leverton. He married Helen M. Davis on December 3, 1938, in Palmira, MO. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clarence Leverton; and daughter-in-law, Shirley Leverton. Surviving are two children, Larry Leverton of Creve Coeur and Sally (Woody) Siltman of East Peoria; five grandchildren, Steve (Missy), Lori, Roger (Jessica), Brad and Becki (Tyler); nine great-grandchildren, Jarrett (Sam), Sara, Jennifer, Stephanie, Payton, Elizabeth, Kenzie, Michael and Marra; and one great-great-grandson, Owen. Raymond worked in management for Caterpillar. He worked there for 40 years and would have been retired in January for 40 years. Raymond was a member of Shriners and Masonic Lodge in Bartonville, IL, Caterpillar Retirees Club and the American Legion Post 1234 in Creve Coeur. Raymond served during World War II in the Army. He received the Bronze Star.A family service will be at 12 noon on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at American Mausoleum Chapel in Peoria, IL, where a visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
