Lucas, Raymond T. BALLSTON LAKE Raymond T. Lucas, 85, of Lake Road, died peacefully at home on November 17, 2016, with his children at his side. He was born on February 25, 1931, of the late Matthew and Clementine Lucas. Graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Schenectady, in 1949. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1954 until 1962. He retired from the General Electric Co. after 30 years as a machinist and draftsman. Mr. Lucas was the beloved husband of the late Alice Lucas who died in 1992; and brother of the late Marjorie Phelps. He was the loving father of Paula J. Rock of Niskayuna, and Brian M. Lucas of Marblehead, Mass.; and adored grandfather of Alexander James Rock, Trevor Daniel Rock, John Matthew Lucas and Shane Aris Lucas. Ray built his own home, furniture and over a dozen boats. He flew planes out in the backyard, traveled to many parts of world, and enjoyed sailing, biking and camping. He was a man of principle and integrity who loved his family and will be sincerely missed by them. A memorial service will be held on December 3, at 11 a.m. in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy Road, Schenectady, followed by a reception.
