Rebecca Laverne Griffin, 92, of Lumberton, Texas, passed peacefully on February 17, 2023. Rebecca Laverne was born on August 06, 1930 in Roxton, Texas. She was a daughter, a mother, a wife, a nurse and a 'Mamaw'. Laverne was always traveling with her partner in crime, Roy aka Grand-Dad for 57 years. She became a Registered Nurse at 50 and retired from nursing at 87. Laverne & Roy had several lake houses throughout their adulthood where they loved to spend their time sailing and searching for sea shells with their great-grand kids. She loved to paint and shop in her free time and praise Jesus. Laverne's love for Nurising and her grand-children and great-grandchildren were abundant. She always had a hot meal, and sweets ready for you any time you visited and constantly "blessed" anybody who would listen with all of her important life lessons.

She is preceded in death by her Mother, Mary Alice Duke & Father, Kewen Worth Duke. Her Brothers; Bryan Duke, Pat Duke, John Duke, and Paul Duke. Her husband of 57 years, Roy Griffin. She is survived by her Daughter, Sharon Green. Her Son, Richard Griffin and Wife Karen. Her grand-children, Anissa Jones and Husband, Rick. Damon Green and Wife Angela. Leah Griffin, and children. Wesley Griffin and Children. Her Great-Grand Children, Rebecca Brianna Stillwell. Jordan Green. Britnee Stillwell and Wife Bailee; Jaidyn Green, and Jyllian Green. Her Sister-In-Law, Martha Duke and Charlene Duke.
