Rebecca Rose (Rader) BellRebecca Bell, 81, Springfield, Mo, passed away on August 9, 2017 in Maple Wood Care Center of Alzheimer's Disease.Rebecca was born on August 9, 1936 to Floyd Stone and Iva (Rader) Stone on a small farm in Niangua Missouri. She attended Niangua schools from K-12. After graduating from High School, she moved to Springfield and worked at Thieme-Hunt Abstract Company. She married Robert H. Bell on August 24, 1963 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marshfield, MO. Rebecca also did bookkeeping for the family business, Bell Signs.Rebecca was a longtime active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She had a strong faith, often reading devotions and bible passages daily. She enjoyed gardening, being outside and mowing her yard. Rebecca also enjoyed traveling & taking family cruise vacations, sitting alongside her husband Bob, when he drove their antique cars to old car shows and the Marshfield Fourth of July Parade. She was active in the YMCA Silver Sneakers program, she loved watching Lady Bears and KU basketball, and her cat, Felix, who was never far from her side. But above all, she loved cooking and baking her specialty; blackberry cobblers and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. They affectionately called her Meemaw and she will be deeply missed.Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Iva Stone, and her brother, Charles Stone of Niangua. Rebecca fought cancer twice previously in her lifetime and came out a survivor, her faith always growing stronger.She is survived by her husband Robert of 54 years; two children Ryan Bell (Lee Anna) and Renna Quasius (Ed); four grandchildren; Brett and Brendan Bell and Ethan and Emily Rose Quasius, all of Springfield; as well as a host of extended family and friends.Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Nick Hagerman presiding. Interment will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery.
