"She whom we love and lose is no longer where she was before. She is now wherever we are." St. John Chrysostom Rebecca "Becky" Rosinbum (n?e Ochsner) Rebecca "Becky" Rosinbum (n?e Ochsner), 65 years old, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2017 in Portland, OR with close family and friends nearby. Rebecca was born on October 4, 1951 in Kansas City, MO. She married Dave, her freshman year PLU sweetheart, on July 4, 1971. Becky settled with her Dave in Cowiche, WA, and then in 1987 they moved to Wenatchee, WA. In 1988, Becky earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Seattle's City University. If you asked Becky what jobs she had, she would say with a laugh, "You name it and I've done it," but her two big loves were selling Real Estate and finding treasures for her antique booths. Her adventures with Dave included living in Eugene, OR, Albuquerque, NM, and finally Olympia, WA, with fun travels to Hawaii, Italy, Thailand and France. Personally, Becky was best known for her unapologetic determination to unite her family during special occasions and the holidays. She was loved and admired for her generous heart, her memorable hugs, and the genuine smile that always twinkled in her eyes. For many years Becky held large Thanksgiving feasts that welcomed everyone, acquaintances and family alike. Becky cherished attending Christmas Eve church services and always gifting her family with new pajamas afterward before Santa came. Becky's most sacred tradition, however, was her yearly pilgrimages to the Kalaloch beaches to listen to the waves and marvel at the ocean with her Dave, her children, and her grandchildren. Rebecca is survived by her husband, David "Dave" Rosinbum of Olympia, WA; her son and fianc?e, Kevin Rosinbum and Bonnie Aslagson of Seattle, WA; her daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren, Sarah, Evan, and Jillian and Joseph Furtick of Olympia, WA; her parents, Brandt and Margy Ochsner of Simi Valley, CA; her brother, Doug Ochsner of Simi Valley, CA; and her sister, Amilee Cappell of Yakima, WA. A memorial is scheduled for 2:00pm on October 1, 2017 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Olympia, WA. Pastor Molly Knutson-Keller will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Becky's life. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either Lutheran World Relief or a local animal rescue center in honor of Rebecca's kind and generous nature.
