Reed H. AndersenDecember 9, 1930 - May 14, 2013Harvey "Reed" Andersen, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Emmett, Idaho on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. He was born on December 9, 1930 to Virgia Anna Ovison Andersen and Harvey George Andersen in Malad, Idaho. Reed grew up in Arbon, Idaho. He attended schools in Arbon and American Falls, Idaho. He married Ruby Nelson. They later divorced. From this union, three sons were born. Reed later married the love of his life, Carol Lopez and had a beautiful life together for 41 years. Together they enjoyed traveling, fishing, flea markets and yard sales. Reed also enjoyed deer and elk hunting with his sons, Rick and Randall, and grandsons, Wes and Tristan. Reed and Carol opened the 1st Second Hand Store & Pawn Shop in Emmett and worked there for 20 years. After retiring they continued to enjoy flea markets and yard sales until his passing. Reed was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Randall of Burley, ID, Rod of Boise, ID, Rick (Michelle) of Burley, ID; three step-sons, Mike (Joyce) Lopez of Chicago, IL, Phillip (Colleen) Lopez of Spokane, WA and David Lopez of Sparks, NV; "our girl", Barbara Andersen of Albion, ID; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Ted Andersen of Pocatello, ID, Jimmy Andersen of Kennewick, WA and sister, Lorrine Sluder of Pocatello, ID; nephews, Kevin and Kort Andersen and nieces, Tamera, Debbie and Dottie. A graveside service will be held in the Arbon Valley Cemetery in Arbon Valley, ID on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Final arrangements were with the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.Reed always loved Emmett.
