Regina Faye "Moma Gina" Carney, 87, passed on December 15, 2020. She was born to James Thomas Lemons and Mary Josephine Turley-Lemons in Stamford, Texas on August 06, 1933. She had one sister, Mary, who passed away when they were children.
She married the love of her life, William Gerald Carney, in 1953 and enjoyed 66 beautiful years together before his passing in 2018. They lived together in the home they built themselves nearly 40 years ago on 20 acres near Grosvenor, Texas. Together they raised 3 children--Mike Carney, Scott Carney, and Kelly Carney. She is survived by 7 grandchildren--Cinimin Mattingly and her husband Glen, Candy Navarrette and her husband Ruben, Cory Carney and his wife Ashley, Amber Carney and her husband Leslie, Angie Carney, Brandon Carney and his wife Sarah, and Josh Carney. She is survived by 16 great-grandchildren--Jack, Jonah, Caroline, Zach, Noah, Owen, Cash, Courtland, Jake, Addy, Bailey, Austin, Aidan, Tristan, Adaline, and Ellie--and many other family and friends who loved her dearly.
Gina graduated from Stamford High School in 1952 before marrying Gerald and moving to Nefoundland for his service in the Air Force. She supported him and their children as they traveled around the country for his career as a boilermaker. Upon Gerald's retirement, Gina worked at Century Twenty One where she had a highly successful career as a Realtor, positively impacting countless lives all along the way.
She was passionate about her family, loved to chat and play games, made friends everywhere she went, made amazing quilts, and was an all-around wonderful woman.
She was the mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and all-around person all of the rest of us aspire to be. The world was a much better place while she was here, and she will be sorely missed.
