AYDEN - Rejoyia Brock Darden, 82, of Ayden, N.C. was called to rest on October 28, 2011, after a long illness. A viewing will be held at Mills Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on November 4, 2011. The funeral service and celebration of her life will be conducted Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the Kingdom Hall in Kinston, N.C. Internment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Rejoyia was born on April 28, 1929, in Lenoir County to the late Henry and Lillar White Brock. She attended public schools at Savannah Elementary, Adkin High School and graduated from high school in Goldsboro, N.C. Rejoyia began a distinguished career at DuPont in 1951 and retired in 1985 with over 30 years of service. Rejoyia married Joe Darden Jr. in 1961 and they were married for 41 years until his death in 2003. Rejoyia was a devout Jehovah Witness for over 40 years and unconditionally loved and followed her faith. She loved to travel and throughout the years traveled to many conventions, assemblies and other places around the country. She leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers, James Brock of Kinston, N.C. and Ezekiel Brock of Roselle, New Jersey; sister Alice Brock of Washington, D.C.; Guardian nieces, Sylandia Brock of Rahway, New Jersey and Jacquelyn Holland of Anchorage, Alaska; adopted family and caregiver, Jeremiah and Beverly Smith of the home; nephews Herley Brock and Akim Brock of New Jersey, Dwayne Jackson of Virginia; Larry Brock, Victor Brock, and Calton Moore of Kinston, N.C., Harvey Moore and Darryl Moore of Grifton, N.C., and William Moore of Florida; nieces Lewana Burney, Tonia Cannon, Ninethea Jenkins, and Karol Graham, all of Kinston, N.C., and Felicia Horton of Douglasville, Pa. Rejoyia was preceded in death by her husband; sister Sarah Moore; and two brothers, Izell Brock and Henry Brock Jr. The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at the Kinstonian Family Buffet, Hwy 70 Kinston, NC.
