EPPING - Rene Joseph Parenteau, 74, died suddenly on Oct. 25, 2016, at the Exeter Hospital after a lengthy illness.A native and lifelong resident of Epping, he was born on Nov. 24, 1941, the son of the late Willie O. and Blanche (LaRoche) Parenteau.A dedicated and hardworking man, Rene was formerly employed at the local shoe factory and brickyard. He was also employed for over 20 years as a maintenance worker at Phillips Exeter Academy before retiring.Rene was a ""one-of-a-kind"" individual with a unique personality who was loved by many. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed many activities, including hunting, boating and snowmobiling. He was also a big racing and New England sports fan who greatly enjoyed watching the Celtics and Patriots play.He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan (Glidden ) Parenteau of Epping; his stepson, David Tierney Sr. of Epping; stepdaughter Patricia Tierney of Epping; his daughter, Renee B. (Parenteau) Victoria, and her husband, John Victoria, of Epping; six grandchildren, Tonya Victoria and her boyfriend, Levi Owens, Jolene O'Connor and her husband, Michael O'Connor, Amanda Victoria and her fiancé, Ricky Porter, David Tierney Jr., Ryan Tierney and Michelle Tierney; four great-grandchildren, Cayden O'Connor, Alana Porter, Chelsea Gilbert, and Evan Gilbert; his brother, Clement Parenteau of Northwood; and his sister, Irene Downs of Raymond.He was predeceased by six siblings and his granddaughter, Jennifer H. Tierney, who died in 2015..SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St., Joseph's Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, N.H.
