LAGRANGE — Rex Eric Price, 47, of LaGrange died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at his residence due to complications of a chronic illness. He was born on Aug. 15, 1968, in LaGrange, Indiana, to John A. "Jac" and Madonna (Atwater) Price. Rex was a graduate of Lakeland High School and went on to further his education at Indiana University. In 1991, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and philosophy. He then earned his master's degree in psychology, also from Indiana University in 1995. He was an owner/operator, with his father Jac, of Price's Commercial Laundry Inc. in LaGrange. Rex had a passion for music, all kinds of motorcycles. He became a soap artisan, starting a business called Making Scents Soap Company. He also loved his husky, Strider. He was a member of the St. Mark's Episcopal Parish of St. James Chapel in Howe, Indiana. Surviving Rex is his daughter, Lily; his son, Max of Middlebury; his mother, Madonna Price of LaGrange; a sister and her companion, Anita Ross and Alan Malone of Waterloo, Iowa; and two brothers and their spouses, Alan and Gretchen Price of Des Moines, Washington, and Jac and Cindy Price of Miami, Florida, and their daughter, his niece, Maria Price. He was preceded in death by his father, John A. "Jac" Price on Sept. 6, 2015. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at the St. Mark's Episcopal Parish of St. James Chapel, on the campus of Howe Military Academy in Howe, Indiana. The Mother Rachel Evans will officiate. Memorials may be contributed to the Craig and Ronda Neff Scholarship Fund or the ARK Animal Rescue.
