Jan. 18, 1934 - Dec. 11, 2016 Rhonda Elizabeth Nolan was born on January 18, 1934 in Bellingham, WA. She grew up in the Glacier area by Mt. Baker, an area that was a source of joy to her for the rest of her life. She married Dick Tonsing out of high school and had children Andy and Marianne. After Dick's passing, she moved to Seattle where she attended University of Washington School of Nursing, and subsequently began work at Harborview Hospital, where she moved quickly into a head nurse position. That was where she met J. Patrick Nolan, whom she married, and their family expanded to include Nora, Kate, Bernie, Ellen and Rosemary. Rhonda was a woman of strong conviction, drive, and a desire to do good things, sometimes in the face of adversity. She was highly involved in all aspects of her community, whether it be her children's school activities, on the board of the Everett Symphony, her book club of over 30 years, or getting sites she was passionate about in Glacier on the State Registry of Historic Places. Rhonda had strong and lasting friendships, and was often the first call made when life events required help or support. Her wry sense of humor could come out in surprising ways and she always tried to put fun into the everyday. Rhonda was immensely proud of her children and their spouses: Nancy, Bob, Hugh, and Dan. She delighted in her grandchildren, Kirsten and husband Isaac, Cassie, Kyle, Brianne, Bridget, Sarah, Elizabeth, Cian, Teagan and Shane. The arrival of her great-granddaughter Audree was a blessing in her later life. Rhonda left this life strong in her faith and grateful for her family's presence. She departed on December 11, 2016. Funeral Mass will be held for Rhonda E. Nolan on Monday, December 19, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2316 180th St. SE, Bothell, WA.
