"Richard The Diamond In the Rough"

Richard Thomas, also affectionately known as "Unc" left this world on August 7, 2024, at the young age of 63. Born on June 1, 1961, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Richard was the beloved son of Samuel Williams and Joyce Thomas.

He was raised in the faith and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church .Richard attended Riverside Highschool. Richard lost his freedom and served 17 yrs in the penal system. During his time in the penal system he was eager to continue his education and received his General Education Diploma.

Richard also became certified as an HVAC Technician while he was maximizing his time in the penal institution. Because he was a avid sports lover he coached a softball team called "The Hit Squad Team" that he coached , where he made many memories and friendships, before coming home to find his sandy red headed fire ball wife Angela Denise and becoming an advocate for young black boys and men.

Richard was also an avid animal lover and animal advocate, he loved his dogs.

My Richard, My Best Friend, his biggest accomplishment after being home for 27 yrs was that he worked so hard on his law and was proud of fighting the system and bringing the injustices of black men to the forefront. Richard was a victim of injustice and he vowed to help other young black men to STAND IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY AND FIGHT FOR THEMSELVES. Richard's law was approved and put in the law books, his law is found under: Richard Lebron Thomas vs The State of Tennessee. He was also a advocate for Prison Ministries.

Richard was a loving husband to Angela Denise Thomas, whom he shared 27 yrs of life with. Richard also raised his stepson, Darius Taylor, who he loved dearly. Richard was also a proud grandparent to one grandchild Jasia Taylor.

Although Richard's time with us was short, his infectious smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew him.

Richard is preceded in death by Samuel Williams(father) Lillie Pearl Williams(grandmother) Geraldine Thomas(grandmother) Rodriquez Thomas (brother) and Quell Reeves(brother).

He leaves to cherish his memory, his (wife) Angela D Thomas, (mother) Joyce Thomas, Stepson (Darius Taylor), (granddaughter) Jasia Taylor, (brother) John Wayne Buts, (Aunt) Denise Williams, (Uncle) Clifford Williams (nephews) Demario Buts, Andre' Grier, and Johnnie Person Jr. (nieces) Zenita Reeves, Cassandra Jackson and Nellie Orr and (GodDaughter) DeErica Jones all of Chattanooga, Tn.

My Dear Heart

Thank you for 27 yrs of laughter at everything and everyone. If I just had 1 more more wish I would hope into my time machine and rearrange history. I would go back and do it all again. I love you always! Rest easy my love, See Ya Later!
