Missing, age 90, of Yorkville, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Season's Hospice in Naperville, IL. He was born on November 23, 1925 in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter and Elsie (Middlesworth) Missing.Mr. Missing proudly served his country during WWII as a member of the United States Navy. Richard was united in marriage on August 2, 1952 to the former Shirley Vondrak and they spent the next 63 happy years together until her passing on April 24, 2016. Mr. Missing was for many years the owner and operator of Archer Drugs in Aurora, IL. Fulfilling his lifelong dream, surrounded by his family, Richard was able see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.He is survived his children, Richard (Susan) Missing, Jr. of Grayslake, IL, Deborah (Joseph) Benes of Keller, TX and Susan (Rick) Bill of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Ryan (Brianna) Haukedahl, Riley (Rose) Missing, John (Nicki) McKinnon, Cathy McKinnon, Joey Benes, Jenny Benes, Erika (Chris) Miller, and Jason Bill; his great-grandchildren, R.J. Preston, Maddy Miller, Avery McKinnon, Alexandra Haukedahl, and Max McKinnon; his sister, Marilyn Toson of Oshkosh, WI; as well as his nephews, John Toson, Ken Toson, and Marc Vernon.He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elsie Missing; his wife, Shirley Missing; and his brother-in-law, Harold Toson.A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL. Private interment will take place in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
