Richard Dick Allen Edquist RACINE Richard Allen Edquist, 72, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 24, 2015. Dick was born on December 5, 1942 to Kenneth and Marjorie (Kirsch) Edquist in Kenosha. On September 1, 1962, Dick was united in marriage to Carolyn Ann Eastman in San Diego. Dick honorably served our country in the Marine Corps, being stationed at Okinawa and various places across the country. Dick was an active member at St. Edwards Church on Grove Avenue. He was a hard worker, retiring after 42 years from Merchants Moving & Storage Company. Dick played softball, golf, and billiards. He also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and watching sports. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Above all, Dick loved his family. Dick will be dearly missed by his wife, Carolyn; son, Michael Edquist; daughters, Susan (Tim) Hupp, and Karen (Rob) Eder; grandchildren, Sara Miller, and Mitchell and Larson Edquist; great-grandchild, Jayden Dunai; and step-sister, Carole (John Buzz) Paricka. Dick also leaves behind many other relatives and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Edquist (KIA WWII), and mother and stepfather, Marjorie and David Drexel. A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 4 PM at Wilson Funeral Home with Father John Vianney Muweesi officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 2 PM until the time of service at 4 PM. Richard will be interred privately at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wheaton Franciscan Home Hospice, 1055 Prairie Drive, Racine, WI 53406. The family would like to thank Dr. Mullane, his staff, and all of the hospice nurses, especially Mary, for the loving and compassionate care they provided Dick.
