Richard Archuleta Sr., 84, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, in Las Vegas.He was born on Feb. 13, 1931, to Ambrosio Archuleta and Aurelia Lucero Archuleta in Tecolote.He was a
Korean War Veteran, a lifetime member of
VFW Post 1547, DAV, American Legion and Cattle Growers Association. He was a past president and member of the Tecolote Land Grant Association. A well-known contractor Richards Sand and Gravel Excavation.A Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.He was preceded in death by his parents: Ambrosio and Aurelia Archuleta; and sister: Virginia Cordova.He is survived by his wife: Anna Marie Archuleta of Las Vegas; daughters: Judy Archuleta Gonzales (Sam Griego), Rose Salazar (Chuck Padilla) all of Las Vegas; sons: Richard Archuleta Jr., Paul Ludi and wife, Annette, Gary Ludi and wife, Christine, all of Las Vegas; and mother of Archuleta grandchildren: Christine Archuleta; grandchildren: Kim Ludi (Leroy Tafoya); Rebecca Ludi Esquibel and husband, Anthony, Amanda Gonzales (Isaiah), Ricardo D. Archuleta (Adriana), Stacy Leonard (John), Mario C. Archuleta, Carlos Archuleta and Mireya Archuleta; great-grandchildren: Eliza, Makayla, Julius, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Cayden, Andres, Christiano, Elyiah, Kyrstian and Reanna; special niece: Deena Sanchez; numerous other relatives and friends.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral service will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Friday also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow at Tecolote Cemetery in Tecolote with the following serving as casket bearers: Ricardo D. Archuleta, Mario C. Archuleta, Carlos Archuleta, Tony Ludi, Chris Ludi and David Luis Madrid.
